Ware County Schools provides a convenient enrollment process for all new students as well as current students moving from one school zone to another.
To register for pre-k, a child must turn at least four years of age on or before September 1. A child must turn five years of age on or before September 1 to register for kindergarten.
Parents/Guardians of new or transferring elementary, middle, and high school students can register in one of three ways:
1) online using your own device 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;

2) at the Centralized Registration office using a self-serve computer kiosk during the hours listed below; or
3) face-to-face by appointment with a Centralized Registration Data Specialist.
The Ware County Schools Centralized Registration Center is located at 1301 Bailey Street, Waycross, GA 31501 inside the Board of Education. Hours of operation for those using a kiosk or scheduling an appointment for assistance are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. We are closed on school holidays throughout the year as well as on Fridays during the summer. Please refer to the school system calendar for more information.

Required Documents
Regardless of which enrollment method you choose, you will be required to provide documentation during the student enrollment process. Please gather all documents before beginning your online application, visiting the Centralized Registration Center to use a self-service kiosk, or attending your registration appointment.
Students who are currently enrolled in Ware County Schools and are transferring from one school to another must provide:
Proof of Residency in Ware County in parent/guardian's name (must be a SERVICE provided to family's home) - Acceptable Proofs of Residency include utility bills (electric, propane, landline telephone, water, cable/satellite, trash pickup) listing the physical address of the residence, a notarized lease agreement, a rental agreement, or a mortgage statement. Utility bills need to show your street address as receiving service, may not be over 30 days old, and cannot be final notice. If you receive your bills online, please obtain a copy from your account before beginning the enrollment process.
Custody/Guardianship documentation, if applicable - All students MUST be registered by the primary custodial parent (in cases of divorce) or their legal guardian. The individual granted guardianship over the child must be the one enrolling the student. A Power of Attorney is not acceptable unless the specific conditions set forth in the “Power of Attorney for the Care of a Minor Child Act,” O.C.G.A § 19-9-120 through O.C.G.A § 19-9-129 are met. You must provide appropriate legal documentation.
Students who are new to the system or are returning to Ware County Schools from another system, home school, or virtual school must provide:
Child’s certified birth certificate (original document required when registering for Daffodil Pre-K)
Child’s Social Security card (Parent may elect to sign a waiver at the time of enrollment stating the individual does not wish to provide the social security number, pursuant to O.C.G.A. 20-2- 150)
Child’s Immunization Certificate (Form 3231 - must be on the Georgia form and be completed by a Georgia doctor or Georgia health department)
Child’s Eye, Ear, and Dental Certificate (Form 3300 - must be on the Georgia form and be completed by a Georgia doctor or Georgia health department)

Proof of health insurance, Medicaid, or Peachcare (for Daffodil Pre-K only)
Driver's license or other photo identification of the parent or legal guardian registering the child
Withdrawal Form, Transcript, and/or Final Report Card from the previous school to verify grade placement - If you do not have this documentation, Centralized Registration staff will request records from the previous school. A student will not be enrolled until all documentation is received.
All Special Education Records (IEP, MTSS, 504, Gifted) and the name, mailing address, and phone/fax number of previous schools attended
Discipline records (per O.C.G.A. 160-5-1-.28) for students enrolling in grades 6-12
Unofficial Transcript or Report Card to assist with scheduling classes for students enrolling in grades 9-12
Documentation of any health concerns or allergies, if applicable

Any restraining orders or other legal documents specifically limiting the access of any individual to the student being enrolled
Documentation for Homeless Students – Homeless students, as defined by the McKinney-Vento Act, shall be enrolled immediately with full participation in school activities, regardless of whether required documentation can be provided at the time of enrollment. The designated employee responsible for the care of homeless students shall assist the individual enrolling the homeless student or the unaccompanied youth in acquiring the necessary documents for enrollment in accordance with the requirements of the state enrollment rule and the Act.
Once the registration application has been entered, it will be processed by one of our Centralized Registration Data Specialists. You should receive an email within two to three business days providing instructions for the next step in the enrollment process. That timeline begins once all documents have been provided. Submitting an incomplete application will cause significant delays.
School Attendance Areas
Students must attend the school zoned for the area in which they live unless they have obtained a waiver. Visit the Elementary Attendance Boundaries page by clicking the button below to locate your school attendance zone based on your home address. Students zoned for Center Elementary, Memorial Drive Elementary, and Williams Heights Elementary will attend Waycross Middle School while students zoned for Ruskin Elementary, Wacona Elementary, and Waresboro Elementary will attend Ware County Middle School. All high school students will attend Ware County High School.
